IRCC uses Comprehensive Ranking System to rank you in the Express Entry Pool of eligible candidates. The candidates receive a score called as CRS score. IRCC picks the highest ranking candidates from the Express Entry Pool through regular monthly draws by issuing them an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
Firstly, you must be eligible for one of the available immigration programs for skilled workers in order to qualify for Express Entry. You get points under Comprehensive Ranking System based on the information in your profile, including your skills and experience.
Secondly, IRCC can pick you and send out to you an Invitation to Apply if you are one of the candidate who have one of the highest-ranking scores. You can then proceed to apply for your permanent residence in Canada.

Thirdly, IRCC uses Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which is the points-based system to assess your score or your profile. Consequently you get a rank in the Express Entry pool which is based on your score
Fourthly, your total score will be out of 1,200. The candidate can score up to 600 from the core set of points. Moreover, a set of additional points of up to 600 are available because of getting a provincial nomination.

- Spouse or common-law partner factors, such as their language skills and education
- Skills transferability, including education and work experience
Additional: Up to 600 points
- Canadian degrees, diplomas or certificates
- a valid job offer
- a nomination from a province or territory
- a brother or sister living in Canada who is a citizen or permanent resident
- strong French language skills
