Canada admits over 300,000 immigrants annually under a wide range of immigration categories. This year, the target had been to admit 172,500 people in the economic program comprising Professional Skilled Workers immigration categories and Business immigration categories with a larger portion being allocated to provinces that work under Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP).

Federal Skilled Worker, Canada Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trade Categories are managed through an online system called Express Entry system and through participating Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP). Provinces have developed their own Express Entry systems. Candidates who meet the Provincial Nomination Eligibility Criteria may be nominated for permanent residence in Canada.

The candidates who meet the Eligibility Criteria are placed into a pool of eligible candidates and are awarded a score under Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The top ranking candidates are then considered for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) under regular monthly draws. The candidates who have been issued an ITA can then proceed to apply for Permanent Residence in Canada.

This program is designed to attract immigrants to Canada’s rural and norther areas through participating communities.

Business Immigration is another option available to Foreign Nationals who meet the eligibility criteria including Federal Start-Up Visa Program and Provincial Nominee Entrepreneur Programs.

There is another popular investment option available to wealthy business owners to invest in their own business under a Work Permit with a strong chance to become permanent resident of Canada. This program is called as Business Owner Operator Program.
