The Foreign nationals can immigrate to Canada through Yukon Provincial Nominee Program which nominates candidates for Permanent Resident status in Canada
Yukon Provincial Nominee Program nominate candidates through the following 3 nomination streams:
- Express Entry Stream
- Skilled Worker Stream
- Critical Impact Worker Stream
Express Entry Stream
Yukon Provincial Nominee Program’s Express Entry Stream is an employer driven stream through which the employers can hire a Foreign National if the position they are hiring for falls in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) A, 0 or B categories.
- The employer finds a qualified foreign worker by using either Canada’s Job Bank to be matched with eligible foreign workers; or the Express Entry stream of the Yukon Nominee Program to offer a job to a foreign worker. The employer must prove there is no qualified Canadian or permanent resident for a position.
- The foreign worker must meet the eligibility requirements of one of the 3 Federal economic categories like Skilled Worker, Skilled Trade or Canada Experience Class categories and the Eligibility Requirements of Federal Express Entry Program. The foreign worker must have an Express Entry profile in the candidate pool and should have been issued an Express Entry Profile Number and, if applicable, a Job Seeker Validation Code.
- The foreign workers must also prove that they have enough money, as determined by the federal government based on the size of their family.
- The employer and foreign worker complete the Yukon Express Entry application by completing application and providing documents required. The Foreign Worker can then be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and can proceed to apply for permanent residence in Canada usually within 6 months.
Skilled Worker Stream
This is an employer driven stream through which the employers can hire a Foreign National if the position they are hiring for falls in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) A, 0 or B categories.
Employers and foreign workers jointly complete the Yukon Nominee Program application. A complete application means having fully completed forms with all supporting documents attached. The application should be submitted to Government of Yukon. Once the processing is complete the Federal government then reviews it. The worker must maintain have a valid work permit and temporary resident status until the final decision on application is made.
Critical Impact Worker Stream
This is an employer driven stream through which the employers can hire a Foreign National if the position they are hiring for falls in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) C or D categories.
Employers and foreign workers jointly complete the Yukon Nominee Program application. A complete application means having fully completed forms with all supporting documents attached. The application should be submitted to Government of Yukon. Once the processing is complete the Federal government then reviews it. The worker must maintain have a valid work permit and temporary resident status until the final decision on application is made.
Foreign Business entrepreneur Stream
Yukon Provincial Nominee Program’s Entrepreneur Stream is for qualified Foreign Business Owners and Entrepreneurs who have a Net worth of at least $500,000 CAD and have a minimum of $300,000 in liquid assets and intend to permanently live in the province. The candidates must establish a new business or purchase an existing business by actively managing their business in Yukon
The business must be in any 1 of the strategic sectors such as Information technology, Manufacturing, Value-added processing, Forestry, Tourism products, attractions, services and facilities, Energy, Mining or mineral development, Agriculture, Cultural industries and Film and video production
The business must not be in the ineligible sectors and activities such as Passive investments, Retail, wholesale operations, distribution operations, Restaurants, Financial services Business, consultation and personal services, most professional services, Real estate, Holding companies and Gas stations
Eligibility Criteria for Yukon Provincial Nominee Program-Entrepreneur Stream :
The candidates must:
- Achieve a score of at least 65 points on the assessment grid.
- Have at least a high school education
- Have at least 3 years of entrepreneurial or business management experience;
- Have at least 5 years work experience that is relevant to your business;
- Not be a refugee or have an active request for refugee status with the Government of Canada;
- Have never been denied immigration by the Government of Canada;
- Have no active applications for any other provincial or territorial nominee program;
- Hold a position within your business of National Occupational Classification (NOC) 0 or A.
- Have not yet purchased or started your business in Yukon at the time of your application to the program.
