You can immigrate to Canada under Canada Business Immigration Programs if you are the Business Owner or Business Manager. The Canadian government offers several options to Foreign Nationals to invest, establish a business with an option to become permanent resident of Canada

There are several ways you can immigrate under Canada Business Immigration as a Foreign Entrepreneur. These programs include Start-up Visa Program, Self-employed program and Canada PNP Entrepreneur programs.

The Start-up Visa Program is for business owners who have a qualifying business. Canada’s Start-up Visa Program targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build businesses in Canada that are innovative, can create jobs for Canadians and can compete on a global scale.

You can be an ideal for this visa if you have an innovative business idea and also need to have a letter of support from one of the designated organizations:

  • Venture capital funds
  • Angel investor groups
  • Business incubators

You must take a language test from an approved agency and you must meet the minimum level of the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 in either English or French in speaking, reading, writing and listening.

Bring enough money to settle

The Government of Canada does not give financial support to new start-up visa immigrants. When you apply, you’ll need to give proof that you have the money to support yourself and your dependants after you arrive in Canada. You can’t borrow this money from another person.

Alberta Self-employed Farmer Stream is for high net worth Farm Owners. In order to qualify the applicants must have a training and work experience in Farm Management. The applicants need to apply to the Alberta immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). The high net worth farm owners must be able to invest a minimum of CDN $500,000 of equity in a primary production farming business in Alberta. You need to submit a proposed Business Plan. The AINP gives priority to those applicants who are planning to invest in Alberta’s Agri-food industry.

Most provinces have their own business immigration streams known as Canada PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Streams.

The applicants if accepted under PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Streams are issued a certificate called Provincial Nominee (PNP) Certificate. As a result, the person nominated by the province can then apply to the Federal government for Permanent Resident status.

Note: Canadian provinces under Provincial Nominee Programs run the majority of popular Canada Business immigration programs. These streams are called as PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Streams.
