New instruction for Federal Skilled Worker applications
On November 28, 2008, Jason Kenney, Minister of
Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, announced the important
new rules for Federal skilled worker applications submitted on or after
February 27, 2008.
Under the “Minister’s Action Plan for Faster Immigration” the Federal
Skilled Worker applications will now be processed within 6 to 12 months
(compared with up to 6 years under the old system).
1. According to the Minister's instructions, your application is eligible for processing if:
- you have an offer of arranged employment; or
- you have been living legally in Canada for at least one year as Temporary Foreign Worker or International Student; or
- you are a Federal Skilled Worker who has at least one year of experience in one or more of the 38 qualifying occupations listed below.

Fast Track Investor Visa To Canada
An investor is a foreign national who: (1) has business
experience; (2) has a legally obtained net worth of at least $800,000; and (3)
indicates in writing to an officer that they intend to or have made an
investment of CDN$ 400,000.
In order to qualify for the Quebec Immigration Investor
Program applicant must: (1) have at least three years of managerial
experience in a profitable business; or (2) have at least three years of
managerial experience in a government, governmental organization or
international organization; (3) have accumulated through their own efforts a
net worth of at least $800,000 Canadian dollars; and (4) have made an
investment of $400,000 Canadian dollars, paid to Quebec-approved investment
fund. Please note that we can arrange financing of $400,000 for you from Canadian Chartered Banks.
Investor applicants are only required to achieve a total of 35 points in order to qualify. The investment of $400,000 is interest free is interest free and is fully guaranteed by the government.
